Sanctions Director Compliance Group London
Our client, an international financial services firm, is looking for a The Sanctions Director ideally with legal a background who will be responsible for the Sanctions team and will report to the Director of Financial Crime. The Sanctions Director’s primary responsibility is to manage the Sanctions team and provide advice and practical assistance to UK and International business divisions in respect of sanctions. The Sanctions Director will also be responsible for developing and implementing internal compliance policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Be part of the Group Compliance team which has responsibility for UK business units and International offices;
- Provide advice and guidance to the business units on the implementation and interpretation of the Group Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policies;
- Responsible for reporting and liaising with regulators with respect to Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policies along with the Director of Financial Crime;
- Deliver Sanctions training to all relevant business units along with the Director of Financial Crime; Develop Sanctions training materials.
- Understand the requirements of the Financial Services Authority and other regulators where they have offices worldwide;
- Identify and apply the laws and regulations applicable to the business units operating in the UK and International business arena and in providing cross-border services;
- Supervise negotiation and maintenance of accurate records of terms of business agreements held with insurance markets.
Experience Required
Legal training preferred
You will have good experience and strong working knowledge of Anti-money Laundering and Financial Crime including
Thorough understanding of and experience with OFAC
Compliance experience gained in a general insurance broker or insurer or relevant experience in underwriting or claims or another FSA regulated sector
Preferably (though not essential) have a law degree or equivalent.
Knowledge of other regulatory regimes.
