Experience:
You will be an embedded software engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience developing technically advanced products in the datacomms/ telecomms/ wireless sector. This is a hands-on technical role.Ideally with 5 years experience of some of the following:
· C /C++ · Embedded, real-time system development and debugging. · Telecommunications, Internet, Ethernet, Wireless protocols, standards. · Network synchronisation.

Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with at least 3 years experience of embedded C development and some experience of Linux Devices Drivers/User Space Programming

The role is to work as part of a close team - in a fast moving development of drivers and software stack for Set Top Boxes and iDTVs using the Linux operating system.
Main focus will initially be on User Space Linux design and development, of the required DVB components and other libraries, to provide customers with a software toolkit for the development of their applications.
Opportunities will exist to have direct contact with customers and the role requires a high degree of customer focus when designing and developing the software to support them.
The candidate will have a proven ability for driver design and development, and a general understanding of hardware APIs, since the role will require these skill as the DTV family of processors are expanded and enhanced.
Experience of embedded C development is essential due to the small memory footprint used, and limited processing power available in the target systems.
