systems engineer to work on Satellite Comms.
Key skills / experience:
Mechanical & electrical engineering experience (preferably gained
in the Satellite Comms industry); minimum 5 years experience.
RF knowledge & experience (preferably gained in the Satellite Comms
industry); minimum 2 years experience.
Ability to perform link budget calculations; up-link & down-link (preferable
but not essential).
Experience in coach building (preferable but not essential).
Location: Southeast England. Near Hemel Hempstead. Salary around £40K
p.a.

Satellite
Access Station (SAS) Engineer |

Our client is looking for a
Satellite Access Station Engineer to coordinate, operate and maintain
the SAS site facilities and services initially located in the North of
the Netherlands.
Occasionally work will be carried out in London or at Fucino Ground Station
in Italy.
The candidate will be required initially to participate in the appropriate
training programs, the integration and test activities of the BGAN site
facilities and the bringing of the site to full operational readiness.
Production and verification of operation and maintenance procedures to
run the BGAN will also be an important task of the post.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with equipment suppliers, witness factory acceptance tests prior
to site installation
Participate in the site acceptance integration and testing activities
Participate in the evaluation and commissioning of the SAS site for operational
readiness
Evaluate impact of configurations changes on operational requirements
Provide engineering support to the operations team at the SAS site
Flexibility to work out of working hours to support special activities
and/or critical operations is also required
Liaise with Network Operation Centre (NOC)
You will have:·
Technical education in electronics
or telecommunications from a technical college or technical school
· Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in packed data, specifically
GSM, GPRS and UMTS
· Experience in data networking, Signalling 7, TCP/IP, Internet
protocols
· Good knowledge of measurements techniques analogue and digital
· Fluency in English language required
· Good PC skills with knowledge of MS Windows, Database programs
and Web based programs
Desirable Knowledge and
Skills:
Fluency in one or more languages
Experience in satellite network and earth station operations
Experience in RF system
Experience in UNIX
Experience with the Inmarsat systems
University Degree

Software Engineer with a strong knowledge of the SCOS2K system.
The job would be at the premises of one of our clients, in Italy, who
is developing a SCOS2K-based solution for a satellite control system.
After a first period of 6-12 months the candidate will be relocated to
our clients main office in Belgium to be integrated with our MOIS development
Team as the SCOS2K expert.Expected duties:
Participate in the definition and preparation of the required test campaign
for a scientific spacecraft. The expertise of the candidate shall include:
General knowledge of Mission Control Centres S/W Engineering - SCOS2K
system and S/W - Mission Control Centre Database Management - Telemetry
and Telecommand Subsystems - On-board S/W Maintenance subsystem - Unix
and Linux - Java, C and C++ - Knowledge of ESA PSS-05 - Fluency in Italian
would be an advantage, together with good communication skills.

Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support to the operations preparation
and the routine operations. You will have a University degree (or equivalent)
in a relevant discipline, the Consultant shall have experience of spacecraft
and/or ground segment operations.
Furthermore, it would be a
distinct advantage to have experience with some of the following:
Validation and commissioning of ground segments for spacecraft-based systems.
Routine operations of ground segments for spacecraft-based systems, including

Development and validation of operational ground segment procedures for
nominal and contingency recovery cases.
Knowledge in the field of SCOS 2K, Tope and TCL TK.
Hands-on MOIS experience.

an ability to work within a team environment and to deal with system-wide
problems.
The Consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and
disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress
